MuskieJunkie
Where do people get the notion that they can sell a used car, truck, boat, trailer etc without a title? Just because you put a "lifetime" sticker on you trailer that doesn't mean you should then throw away all the paperwork the state sends you on it! And if you did misplace the paperwork all you need to do is go to the DMV and the nice folks there will mail you out another copy for less than the price of a case of beer. I run into this all the time. Ok, end rant. I can't be the only one seeing this.....

Pat K
My wife works for Deputy Registrar. At least 2 or 3 times a week she hears "I don't need the title I bought it from someone on C....s List."
Getanet
In people's defense, I swear they make those titles with a "this message will self-destruct" mechanism built in. I bought a trailer off that site a few years ago, transferred the title to my name, and now that I'm thinking of selling it - can't find it for the life of me. SkunkedAgain
It goes to basic organization. Most people aren't the least bit organized in their life and there is no problem with that...until they try to sell something to someone else.I've got a used 2-drawer file cabinet in our home "office" that keeps bills, receipts, and all of our vehicle/boat/snowmobile information in folders. It sure makes selling things easier when you pull out a big folder for the prospective buyer and everything is in there. A little hassle on a daily basis can net you more $$ in a sale because you've got your stuff organized.

The thing also is to remember to purge the files of all the obsolete paper work, which I struggle with because I'm always afraid I will throw something away I will end up needing in the future. Now my 2 drawer file has turned into 4 drawer. Mike
SkunkedAgain
Ha! That's why you don't creep up to the 4-drawer. When I run out of space, I purge.
