Windows 7 registration question

Do you have to register Windows 7 during the install, or do you have 30 days? I would like to try it on my new system, but have a program that runs on XP and don't want to update it because of cost. I want to try running it in XP mode.

I have a guy that will buy my Windows 7 from me if I don't register it.

You can really use it for up to 90 days with a couple of rearms. If your not sure how to rearm just do a search and it will lead you to Microsoft.

You do not ever have to register it, but you will have to activate it after a grace period. You can install it and not activate it and use it to see what it is like.

Yeah, I'd guess "registration" in this case actually meant activation.

I am pretty sure that most versions a windows will allow you to run for 30 days without registering. Not totally positive on Windows 7 tho, as I have yet to try.
