MUSKY18
As I am sure some guys will tell you, the earlier the better. Line will start forming a day in advance if not sooner just to get into camp, get setup and get your vehicle in line for opening morning. sticknstring
We opted to tent it a few years ago when it snowed, but opted for the cab of the truck instead. Getting soft. Probably be 70 this year.

snapcrackpop
So is it first come, first serve? I thought they assigned you a spot in line ahead of time...?

Cheetah
I thought they assigned you a spot in line ahead of time...? HAhahhahah. sorry, couldn't help myself. First come first serve, and if you get caught trying to budge in line they send you straight to the back. No mercy for breakdowns or guys who sleep in either, they will make you wait to jump back in until the whole line goes by some time after sunrise... I tented it a couple times at Ripley. Frickin cold those years, frost on the ground when waking up and I had to keep buried in my mummy bag all night. These days I just sleep in the truck... mnguy152
One seams to be a constant at ripley is the weather never been good for hunting lol. First year snow rain sleet with 50mph winds . Next year was rain and windy. Last year was better no rain but windy than all hell but on the little of the warm side.
snapcrackpop
What is the "Camp Ripley Permit"?Can't find my letter, but downloaded the Ripley Hunt Packet from DNR's HSOforum.
sticknstring
Should have come in the mail with the rules and other stuff. Has your permit number on there and name. I think you can get in without it, but not a bad idea to look for it.
snapcrackpop
If you camp with a motorhome, then drive out to hunt, do you keep the campsite or loose it?
MUSKY18
You keep your camp site if you do that. There is a TON of parking along motorpool road for you to camp and stay setup there.

DRH1175
One week and counting should be fun. I have been there a couple times so I have a few spots in mind. For those who are pros. Is it better to go deep in the woods far away from roads or not so much. Also are the hilly areas or the flat thick stuff seem to be best? Either way I am not getting out of my stand all day.
