I have seen many wild brookies in my day. Not many are portly like this wild one is.

The really amazing thing is this trout was caught way up in the headwater and this is a male brook trout.

This is not brooder sow that eats until it is about explode.

here are a couple of chunky ones from the Gunflint Trail a few years ago.

these are all brook trout also. i know by the pic you cant tell realy well butt they had a good belly on them and generaly plump. good luck.
