booger
Anyone send in the postcard and participate in this? I assume you're nearly guaranteed phenomenal hunting if you have to apply and win a drawing.

koonie
Timing is everything at LQP. Phenominal probably isn't going to happen in the public blinds.

carpshooterdeluxe
A few days during the season a handfull of blinds can produce some pretty good shooting, but most days its a bird watching affair. Pray for low clouds, wind, and a flight line over your blind, and hope that tungsten loads are on sale between now and the time you go. dan z
If your real real lucky you may even wing one at that!
Maxxed Out
Wait until December and come out when there is no drawing and state blinds are first come first serve. The weather and bird count is ideal. December hunting is as close as it gets to the flight path the birds took when I was growing up out there in the 80's and 90's. booger
Well, well I never applied (partly due to the above post). I did apply for a hunt at Carlos Avery. And guess who will be there opener I'm assuming since this is controlled the hunting pressure won't be ridiculous and that early goose wasn't open on this part of CA. I'm very excited, we applied for the most popular dates. Didn't think I had much of a shot. Anyone been drawn for this before?
rbs
Do they still have water blinds also? I always wanted to try those. The couple times I was there years ago hardly anyone ever wanted them
Maxxed Out
Yes they still have the water blinds. Tons of wood ducks by them last year.
R. Miller
I've sent in the card a few times. I think it's worth it as you'll get in the first drawing and can usually get a pretty decent blind or at least one that has been producing a few birds...haven't done it for a few years as you can get in on the second morning drawing for a blind without sending in a postcard beforehand and can still get lucky and get a decent blind..just kind of depends from which way they're coming/going from the lake. Maxxed Out is right though the later the better.Maxxed Out - I saw your new billboard in Milan last weekend...looks great! Ryan
