oil drain plug tube?

Myrt

Question

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a hose with threads on the end to screw in the spot where the drain plug goes when changing oil on a 4 stroke,(not lower unit), with the motor up, then when you lower it the 4 stroke oil will drain thru it. Read about this somewhere and can't find it now, don't know if person made it or if they were sold. For a yamaha 75 tiller. Thanks

Many people make their own. Bring the plug into a hardware or autoparts store, explain to them what you are trying to do and have them find a barbed fitting with the same threads and a length of tubing that suits you. You could also try calling a Yamaha dealer to see if they can get you one that would work for your motor.

I have a container with a pump and hose with barbed end.

That was for automotive gear oil and I fill with outboard gear oil.

Before I stumbled on that I took a bolt, cut the head off and drilled it out.

Attached a hose to that and then the other end slipping on the tapered fill end of the fill bottle.
