For those of you who haven't heard about the pig with the wooden leg... let me tell it to ya.
------------
A salesman shared this story with my papa one day. He said he was goin' door to door tryin' to sell stuff in a farming community.

As he walked up to this one house, he saw a pigpen right next to the house. In the pen was a pig with a wooden leg. Curiously, he looked at the pig. Curiously, the pig looked back and snorted a couple times.

The salesman finally knocked on the door. An old farmer answered, saying, "Come in my friend! Come in! What brings you to my place this fine day?"

The salesman introduced himself and told the old farmer why he was in the neighborhood. After some small chit chat, the salesman asked if there was a missus in the house.

"Oh no," answered the old farmer. "It's just me and Miss Piggy out in the pen."

"Sorry to hear that," replied the salesman. "But, speaking of... ummm... Miss Piggy, did you say her name was?"

"Yessum," came a quick reply from the old farmer, big smile on his face.

"I'm kind of curious, why Miss Piggy has a wooden leg," inquired the salesman.

The old farmer suddenly came to life. "Miss Piggy is a wonderful pig! Why, she saved my life once!" The old farmer stood up and became quite animated as he told the story. "I was out plowin' the fields one day and had a heart attack. I was layin' on the ground, clutchin' my chest, and screamin' for help as loud as I could. Miss Piggy got out of her pen, ran out to where I was, drug me back to the house, grabbed the phone, and dialed 9-1-1 for me!" He then sat down and smiled at the salesman.

"Wow! That's quite an amazing story! But that still doesn't answer my question. Why does Miss Piggy have a wooden leg?"

Again, the old farmer got animated as he excitedly told another story. "Miss Piggy is such a wonderful pig! There was another time she saved my life! I was out in the barn one nite with my oil lamp. I had set the lamp down on a post so I could use both hands to clean things up. I accidently knocked the lantern over and the barn caught on fire. I was stuck in there!" He paused for a quick breath. The salesman staring on in amazement. The old farmer continued, "Miss Piggy got out of her pen again, rushed in through the flames, and led me to safety! She even helped put out the fire on my clothes!"

This went on for about an hour. Finally the salesman says, "Sir, I must get going. I have other stops to make. But could you please just answer my one question. Why does your pig have a wooden leg?"

"Welp," answered the old farmer. "With a pig as great as Miss Piggy, you don't wanna eat her all at once."
-----------------------
And there you have it. The story about the pig with a wooden leg.

I've heard stories about putting gophers in harnesses for muskies. I've never actually seen a gopher harness. I know there are baits that look like gophers at http://www.gopherbaitco.com/ and I don't think they would have baits that look like gophers unless somebody used them at one point. Have any of you heard of this before?
