x1957x
I have a 1996 170 competiter CR Alumacraft and the fuel gauge can read 1/2 at times and then bounce up to full then down to 1/2 or 1/4, whatever. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Thanks, and it is greatly appreciated!!
Scott K
My gas gauge doesnt work good on my Alumacraft either (Tournament Pro 175). I tested mine, the sender is bad. Not saying that is what is wrong with yours though. I know someone wrote up a nice post about diagnosing fuel gauge issues here ssomewhere. Check this out Gas gauge
marine_man
Sounds to me like your sender is sticky. Best thing to do is pull the sender out of the tank and inspect it. It might be time for a new one.marine_man
Capt. H (Ret.)
I haven't seen a gas gauge on a boat yet that wasn't much more than a wonder guage. On plane and calm water is about the best it gets or they bounce hence the wonder guage!!!!Mike
