How old was your bear!

I thought this might be an interesting topic. My daughter just got her information back from the tooth she sent in and her bear was 27 years old! I looked around some and found that very few bears live past 25. I found an article in the Star Tribune dated March 30, 2010 that talked about bear No 56, a radio collared bear who was 36 at the time. I don't know if she is still living. According to the article, the average age of a bear killed by a hunter in Minnesota is 3.7 years and the oldest bear ever killed by a hunter was 31 based on 35 years of data. Interesting. By the way, my daughter shot this bear, her 2nd, with a bow and it was not very tasty at all!!! How old was your bear!

15 y/o was the oldest in our parties so far.

My daughter's bear weighed 225 field dressed so probably about 250 lbs? I thought an older bear would weigh more than that but the Bear #56 that was in the Tribune article only weighed 170 lbs.

I shot one that was 11 and dressed 170#

my oldest bear was 12 1/2 yrs.

17 1/2 Sow and was under 200 lbs dressed.
