Avid or Smoothie

Looking to get a new rod. Narrowed choice to a Limit Creek Smoothie or an Avid AVS69MLXF. Is the Avid worth double the money? Thanks, Jake

Both are good rods, and it may just come down to how you like the feel of them in your hand. One thing to keep in mind, is that the Avid has lifetime warranty and if you break it in 10 years it can be replaced at a greatly discounted price.

I have used the smoothie and there are tons of people that swear by them. I know it's not really helping you make the desicion, but I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Thanks. Living in Indiana there's no way to handle the Limit Creek but I can the Avid.

Can't go wrong with the Avid. I have not used the LC smoothie.

Warranty is a huge deal also.

Like others have said, can't go wrong with an Avid. Warranty is a good thing just sent one in yesterday, $75 for a new rod and a few bucks for shipping is cheeper than buying a new one

I actually own and use both of them. I can be using the Avid and pick up the "Smoothie" and not notice much of a difference at all. The Avid has a slightly faster tip on it making it a little less forgiving. The Smoothie still gives you all the sensitivity but has a better action and feel in my opinion. I'd say buy 2 Smoothies instead of 1 Avid!

For the price the smoothie is tuff to beat. I have both and no doubt if I needed a new rod I would spend my $ on another smoothie.

That's a fantastic rod too. I've not used the other two, but I have used plenty of Fenwicks. Tough to beat for the money.
