DonBo
Chilakoot Bowhunters hosted their annual spring Bowhunter Ed Class last Saturday. 42 students, including 17 women attended the one day class. Marlene, our lead instructor is a retired teacher and a natural born educator. She really does a nice job of keeping things rolling along so no one (even the experienced bowhunters) gets bored. Todd Amenrud from Wildlife Research Center is always a big hit. He gave an hour long seminar on scents and vocalizing. Todd was so interesting that he was a hard act to follow. I taught some basic equipment info along with "The shot, and after" "Blood Trailing" and "Tree Stand Safety" We finished the day with an impromptu turkey clinic and ended up shooting arrows at our outdoor range. Yes, it was a beautifull day for fishing, but it always feels good to give something back to the sport.
