creepworm
Fished the Big Souix on Sunday evening, caught a couple Walleye but few and far between. Got the boat out for a cruise and a little fishing yesterday afternoon and got a few Walleye, mostly small, and they were fairly deep yet. carpshooterdeluxe
smallmouth and pike are hitting on some of the shore spots I've stopped at. Had a lot better action closer to SF though for walleye.
Purpledescent
Hooked a few Northerns yesterday by the bridges at Poinsett, the one South of the 459th & 192nd intersection. Not sure what people call that bridge.

Purpledescent
You catch anything nice from shore? Everytime I go there I fish the North boat landing area and get 12" Walleyes and Smallies. Plently of them just nothing with size.
PKretsch20
What are some shore fishing spots to try this time of year? Thompson, Poinsett, Sinai, etc..
JJensen
when we looked for shore spots. we try and look for flooded roads or areas with deep drop off or lots of structure. we just kinda looked at maps to find these areas and try them out
rundrave
81 ponds would have some great shore spots not sure how high or low the water is though? You could fish the old ham grade on Thompson from shore, you have to walk a bit though. You used to be able to park right on it but now you have to walk. Also don't over look the Big Sioux and Jim rivers for some shore action. creepworm
PKretsch,Flandreau dam has been producing some pike and Walleyes. Have had a few friends heading out to the oldham grade on Thompson and getting a few walleye a night. Poinsett has been good for pike but not much as far as a walleye report from there. carpshooterdeluxe
Best bite has been jig and minnow during the evening; but after dark, changing presentation to a tail hooked minnow, float, slip sinker, and a bell on the rod tip has been the better producer. Get some waders on and go exploring. Use your feet to sense the mud/gravel transitions; especially on the lakes that are "high" yet.
