That's just words Lowrance marketing throws at you to make it sound better. You cannot digitally sample the world: you must do that by some analog means. My guess is that Lowrance uses a different pulse shape but really that doesn't make any difference as the key is the signal strength of the return and the time it takes to come back (both analog values). Then every single electronics maker uses an AtD and processes the information digitally.
