HB just put out new update for 597 ci HD (any mabe others), FYI 597 is not working quite yet, i have already downloaded it but it is not automatically being read by console, just spent 40 min on phone with them as they were claiming me not downloading right, my card not being read, etc. we went through all troubleshooting aspects on my end & its not me. there are supposed to call me back when they know something. i do not recommend downloading update until i report back with my update FYI

Thanks for the info. There has been an update available for the 385ci for a while now that I have been holding off on. Guess I will keep waiting. Let us know how it turns out.

is this update for just the 597ci HD or does it include the 597ci HD DI. if so I will have to check it out since I have a 597ci HD DI model.

Did you restore the defaults prior to trying to update? If you interrupt an update part way through (accidentally or not) you will be S.O.L. and have to send it in. (Don't ask me how I know.)

i have the 597ci HD DI. I got it in Jan, and i update the day i got it (Version 5.820),. not sure what you done to yours ,but everything is fine for me. gps, lake master and ice fishing mode works great.

sorry for any confusion but YES there is a new update available, last was 5.8 and now the newest is 6.090

yes i did restore to factory default as recommended by HB and even had someone go step by step over phone and still not working.

anyway they called back this am and while the software update was good, they did find an issue with their "downloading" program. i have since redownloaded it and everything is working properly. nothing was wrong on my end but do appreciate the thoughts on what i could have done wrong.

as for other model updates, you will have to go to the site & check yourself as i only have the 597 ci hd model on my acct to check for upgrades

When you restore the default settings, does it erase all of your waypoints, trails, routes, etc... or just your settings such as the views,sensitivity, user mode, etc. I hope it only does the latter, as I would rather not have to backup all my data onto another card (though this probably isn't a bad idea... just don't know how).

I have done 3 updates on 2 different units and not one issue.

Always restore to default.

I happened to look at the Hbird HSOforum today anxiously waiting for an 898si update...Not yet.

i honestly dont know, i have not done much in the way of storing waypoints and other stuff, i have only had mine since last oct. i dont even know how to use the "recording" feature yet cause i always have navionics chip in console and have nothing to record on, if some can chime in on that, it would b great.
