Ice Cleats

I have the Yaktrax Pro, and so do all the USPS mail carriers I see walking around town. I don't think you would be hurting them too much at all by walking on concrete occasionally. They are ok on glare ice, but not as sticky as some of the more aggressive designs like Kahtoola or Stabilicers.

Yak Trax are tops in my opinion. Having been a witness to many accidents on the ice I have 2 pair and lend out the second pair when someone else is without. I guess I should own stock the way I convince freinds to buy them.

I've had those same cleats for years and leave them on my boots all year, from the garage, driving to and from the lake, in and out of baitshops, and on the lake, they are the best, not "the best" in aggressive traction on glare ice but over all the best cleats in my opinion.

Thanks for the info guys. I figured they would be ok, I just didn't want to find out the hard way they wouldn't. Those things are a pain to get on when your wearing your boots, that's for sure. They work great on the ice, though!

agreed with what everyone else has said. Not terrific on glare ice, but it's still a heck of a lot better than not having them. I keep mine on year-round. Great for snowblowing, and they handle just fine on wood decks and even inside at the gas station. I would recommend them for older people to have the shoe-sized ones on during the winter as well.

i have a pair kahtoola micro spikes. let me tell you theres nothing micro about them. tonight on the lake i moved about a half mile to where one of my buddys was fishing and he said jeez what do you have on your feet? i could here you a half mile away.

im thinking about grinding the spikes down a little bit.

there easy on and off though and they never fall off.
