Cool stuff to do near Xcel?

Going to a Wild game soon and I'll have plenty of time in the area before the game and the next day. I've been to Xcel once before, but didn't have any free time and I don't know the area well. What's worth checking out in the general area of Xcel?

agreed, less than a block away, close to alot of good parking and I don't know anywhere in MN that compares. It's ala carte so get there early so there isn't a line out the door.

I'll have to try Great Waters.

If you haven't had a juicy lucy (Nookie) there is an Irish Bar that is a few miles south of the X and they have a bus to the game, the $15 you save on parking buys a couple burgers!

If you're into hardware stores, check out Seven Corners Hardware (one block from Xcel). I could spend an hour easy just walking around in there. Very cool store.

If you like candy and fun popcorn, check out Candyland on Wabasha.

Walk up to the Basilica. Take a drive up and down Summit Avenue. Check out the JJ Hill Mansion. Science Museum is right there. Imax Theatre at the Museum.
