Is some of LOW on this MN App? The minnesota side anyways or do you need to get the canada/usa one instead? Thanks great info. here.

Yes the MN side of LOW is on the USA app, but not in HD. Don't really know if the mapping of the lake is any good or not though since I don't really fish that lake, but it is there. Looks like 10ft contours though. I'd suggest spending the extra $, I'm kinda regrettng it now

I've got the USA/Canadian version and the contours on LOW aren't showing up in HD either. I've tried about everything. The older North app has the 1' contours though..

Also, with side by side use alongside handheld and marine chart-plotters, I've been finding that my iphone gps really isn't that accurate.. confused

Its because the GPS on cell phones do not track to the same level or preciseness (word?) as a chart plotter. It only measures to two spaces to the right of the decimal compared to four.

Do you guys know if I download this app on my ipod touch can I use it on the lake since I won't have internet access. I understand that I would if I had an iphone or droid. Thanks!!!
Internet access will not do you any good anyway. You need GPS. Does the IPod touch have GPS? If not, you could look at contours, but have no idea where you are on the lake.

Yeah, that disappointed me. I was hoping for a better view of LOW without dropping $100 on another chip.

I don't think URL is covered in HD by the app either. The Lakemaster on my HDS-8 has much better detail.

I wonder why LOW is not appearing for you guys. I have the USNorth map on my phone and I have 1 ft contours for LOW.

They must have gotten rid of it, seems odd. I thought the new one US and Canada had it. That was a few dollars more than the US one though.

Apparently there is a new agreement with Canada, and it sounds like Navionics was using Canada's maps for LOW and the VNP lakes(and probably others), not there own. So they had to rollback the maps of those lakes to ones they were able to use that were not as good.

A lot of really bad recent reviews. Have they changed it significantly or something?

Which version are you looking at(Lakes North or Marine/Lakes USA)? iPhone or Android? I'm looking at the Android USA app right now and the only negative reviews I see are because the depth numbers are too small. Navionics claims that is because of the screen size/resolution of some devices. I've got both apps installed on my phone and the depth numbers are the same size on each, tiny on my new phone(Galaxy Nexus), perfect size on my old phone(Droid2), so yes the screen size has a huge effect on the text size on the map. It sounds like they may be working on an option to change the text size, but have no idea when that may be released.

just curious, i bought the watermap (minnesota lakes) for 4.99 couple years ago, does anyone else have/use this & navionics? if so, how do they compare?

I've never heard of it? Who is it by? I can't find anything like what you describe in the Android market.

Can anyone with the Canada/US version please take a look at Lac Seul in Ontario and see what areas of the lake it covers? Maybe attach a screenshot? Trying to decide if it's worth the extra $5.

Thanks!

I looked at it and the whole lake is covered along with rock markers and navigation routes. Its not in 1 foot HD but it does show the depth contours. Im not able to do screenshots so i cant show you a picture. I have fished Lac Seul before but never looked at the lake after i got the app. But checking it now i was impressed with the info available. I would be happy with it. The thing with Lac Seul you have to keep in mind is that its a resevoir and they do draw downs and the depths will change especially in winter. I went ice fishing there one year and i kid you not was the most spooked ive ever been on a lake. There was a good 26 inches of ice but however when i popped thru the ice there was 6 foot of air inbetween the ice and the water level. No foolin it was a serious pucker moment.

I have very good news about the High Def maps for LOW on the Mobile Navionics App. I sent Navionics a question why the North chip had the HD contours for LOW, but the Mobile application did not. Here is their response.

Todd,

Thank you for contacting Navionics. The Navionics Mobile application is a combination of both the Marine database and the HotMaps freshwater database. There are some areas that are duplicated on both types of charts such as Lake of the Woods. Currently the default view is the Marine database. This is going to be changed this month. Unfortunately I do not have a specific time-frame but at the end of the month, beginning of next month reload the map for the area and please advise me if you do not see this change.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
