suckers caught ice fishing

Foung a new walleye spot on monday on a lake I've never fished before. To my surprise I caught an 18" and a 20" sucker on a jigging spoon. How common is it to catch a sucker on a lake in the winter?

Ive caught them before jiggin for Tullies. Usually caught them in the spring thou. Suckers are great smoked!

i have cought a few over the years fishing for trout in shallow waters but that was over many years. good luck.

Never caught any but have seen them with the aquaveiw while angling and while spearing.

on friday my brother and I were sitting in the pop up waiting for a school of tullies to swim by and I was telling him about how a first noob tullie fisherman caught a sucker and thought it was a tullibee, as I was finishing my story he hooked up on a fish, it turned out to be a huge sucker and we just started to laugh.

Got one on bsl fishing tullies this weekend. 10' down in 25'. Thought it was really weird but apparently it happens alot.

yea I see those and pouts being caught on bsl pretty often
