called tb about rod order from ice show, was told dont know when blanks are coming, and no date getting rod so much for gf gift.. there web page said 2to3 weeks wrong!!!

As of yesterday, Thorn has rods made by DH Custom Rods, did a test on them some time ago relative to a comparison ~ check them out and made in MN. "Al Dente", is the latest model that I bought a half dozen of and all I can say is WOW, I broke many competitors rods with the same test and the "Al Dente" stood tall, super sensitive, no spring required and FAST!

4) The same company we have make our blanks also gets contract work from NASA... we have our speculations that they are in the middle of a big project that takes precedence over our blanks. And like mentioned before, MADE IN THE USA and not out-sourced.

So you're saying my custom power noodle is flying around is space somewhere?

What I take away from all this is don't wait to get your order in. I plan on ordering all the things I will need from them for next year, towards the end of the ice season. I am still waiting for my power noodle, and like i said earlier, I should have ordered mine well, well in advance. No way I blame Thorne Bros for making a great quality rod that everyone wants and their supplier is unable to get them what they need. I just received my pro plus rod and it made me even more excited to get my power noodle. Judging by the quality of my pro plus, I will be replacing all my rods with Thorne Bros. Next up is a walleye sweetheart.

In regards to Ice Show orders, yes the money has been charged. I forgot about the Ice Show orders so I apologize for that. You would not have received an email either, so I spoke too soon, again I apologize. All we can do at this point is refund any money for customers waiting on orders from the Ice Show if they have issues with the wait time. I do believe all customers at the Ice Show were told they would not be available until after the 1st of the year though, but again, we are not here to screw anyone over and a full refund can be returned to anyone who has any issues with the added wait time on the Power Noodle and Dead Stick rods.

Other than Power Noodles and Dead Sticks, we're on track with the 3 week wait on other blanks. So if you ordered a different rod at the Ice Show, then they should be shipping out this week or first part of next week... that's if they haven't shipped out already as I know a lot of Ice Show orders are already shipped out.

As far as the situation with the customer who called the store and had a bad experience, I don't have any insight on that situation although this has been brought to the store's attention and there might have been some confusion or miscommunication on the phone or a phone might have cut out, as there was no intent to hang up on anyone or act in any kind of rude manner. I just don't have a lot to go on here, again, I/we apologize for any miscommunication or confusion on this. We are happy to discuss this situation further if you would like to call and talk with Katie, who is our head of customer service and office manager... 763-572-3782.

In regards to the Quiverstick availability, we have blanks and can/will build you a Quiverstick in the normal 3 week wait time, same with other rod options other than Power Noodles and Dead Sticks. We don't have most rods on the shelf right now, but will indeed build them as orders come in.

Again, we greatly appreciate everyone understanding the situation and we really appreciate all the support. I sure wish I had a magic button I could push that would drop 1,000 Power Noodle blanks on my lap... so if anyone finds one of those buttons please let me know smile

I'm at the store tomorrow from 9am-4:30pm and will field any calls anyone has, so if any of you have questions about your rod orders please call me tomorrow between those times and I will do my best to help out... 763-572-3782.

Thanks again!

Matt,

I will give you that magic button if you give me a magic button for catching walleye over 30". smile Thanks for the info Matt. I just sent an email asking about availability of walleye sweetheart rods. And if I understand you correctly, it should only be 3 weeks to get that rod. Correct?

Thanks

Fiberglass rods are turned from a fiberglass rod. So when it says made in America does that mean the fiberglass is made in America or the fiberglass rod is "turned" in America?

I know a few "American" made fiberglass blanks come from Chinese Material. It doesn't bother me one bit. I just want to make sure just because it says its from china, DOESN'T mean its not quality.

If Throne Brothers says its American made and American turned we can take their word for it.

Like someone else said the El Dente is available at Thorne Brothers.

W e were in the store in November and i bought Pan fish sweet heart, we were told that they would have power noodles on hand at the fishing show and 10% off. We got to the show, the kid told us they had No blanks but we order one and it would be 3 weeks. Not one thing was said about the first of the year, and when i called the other day to check on the stat of my order the lady that answered the phone was very rude to me..Like the other person stated they were rude, NOT very professional, But will CONT to wait for my Rod, Thank you Matt and TB.

simple1,

You give me that magic button and I promise you a 30" walleye smile And yes, we have Walleye blanks in stock and it will only be a 3 week wait.

nitroman,

I apologize for your experience when calling the store and I will again bring this to the attention of management tomorrow. There is no excuse for rude bahavior no matter the situation. If you need anything in the future you can call and ask for me.

As far as the fiberglass material we use... All of the material we use is made in the USA and turned in the USA.

And one last thing... the DH rods (El Dente) are not Thorne Bros rods, I just want to make that clear. We are just selling the rods in our store.

I was in the store yesterday and the lady running the till in the lure area was way stressed out for some reason. Another gal came over and rang up my group. Seemed kinda strange..But I am sure the constant demand for a product not available can wear on a person.

Just to clear something up about Thorne Bros blanks... EVERY PART of the Throne Bros Power Noodle and all of our fiberglass blanks are made in the USA. The material is made here, the blanks are turned here and we build on the blanks here. Anything mentioned otherwise is misleading the public. Thorne Bros ice rod blanks are 100% USA MADE.

is the string holding the guides on the rod also spun in USA??? haha JK Matt!!!

It's the holidays people and we are coming down to crunch time. It can be a very stressful time for many people and this is a time that if you deal with a stressed out salesperon just pass it off as "that is not normal". I am sure with the holiday demand and having to be the peacekeaper while dealing with something that is totally out of your control can get very stressful...no the customer shouldn't have to deal with someones work issues when trying to inquire or spend money on a product but brush it off and remember TIS THE SEASON!!!

ALL this 100% made in USA bull@#$%!

I am all for buying usa made product, but enough splitting atoms

that being said you more than half of the people concerned are likely pulling there japenese made sled , tackle and what not else with there japenese made atv which some people transported with there japenese suv or truck... but that did play into it when they bought any of the above

lets face it japenese fisherman are dealt with extremeley tough fishing conditions . and build some qaulity gear as do americans.

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
