8" or 10" auger

Fishing from a portable I would go with an 8", wheel house I like a 10" because after a week or more the hole will close up to about a 8" so it keeps me from redrilling as often. I would look for a 9" if I could only have one.

What size auger 8" or 10" would be the best choice to start with?

thanks for any input.

What do you fish for? I've pulled 12 lbs pike through 8" holes but it's snug getting those long heads out.

I find an 8" plenty for me and my vex. my buddy likes the 10" cause he claims less tangles with his cords vs fish.

More of a prefrence then anything unless you target very large fish. And you have small kids or smaller feet!
