Help me with my wish list

TyGuy02

Question

I don't know if anyone has read the book or watched the video on "The Secret", but in there it has a segment on making a wish list and picture board of everything you WANT to have. Soooo, I fish (hard and soft water), hunt (not much though), and living in northern minnesota, I like to take advantage of everything that is here.

Where I need help is the expected costs. I want to put everything together and have this...number in my head to shoot for when everything is added up. My wife and I are not made of money, but I've always been a good saver when I really want something!

-Boat (brand new 19' Lund)

-Fishhouse (if this is my dream...snobear, so might as well dream snobear)

-ATV

-Snowmobile (2)

-Pickup (I have a good pickup now, but I want to keep what I have now for utility purposes, I guess if this is a wishlist right?)

-workshop/storage building (this is the biggest one! My wife and I will be buying land to build in the next 10-15 years)

I know what your thinking...but all I have is bits and pieces of experience with snowmobiles and ATVs since all I've ever done is borrowed from family. Ideally, everything would work together for functioning purposes. Thanks for any help, and dream on right? Sometimes that's all a man can do!

It seems to me that for the purpose of a wish list or dream board, any snowmobile or ATV would do, since when it became possible you would certainly evaluate all of the then current options, right?

So the picture and the image in your mind is really sort of generic.

delcecchi - yes it would be sort of generic, being a decade or so away, it would be hard to imagine what would be the "next big thing" to have that far in advance

Black_Bay - I definitely will not want to skimp on the land/building site! We're only really looking for 40-80 acres, but we are really picky! We could jump on something now, but waiting for something that we will have and love for 50+ years.

Brian-Mn - I do see what you mean. My rough ballpark was around 200k as well. Of course this "savings for toys" would be after putting away for retirement, but I just couldn't imagine saving for 10+ years and not getting what I want and works ideally with what I like to do. AND maybe 10 years from now I would buy a used boat, great used fishhouse, used ATV/snowmobiles and the estimate would be 100k. I just want to hear some others' dreams.
