Fish house under the tonneau

I am looking to see if I am going to be able to get my otter lodge under my tonneau cover of my 2007 nbs silverado. I am a student at college so I dont have any other place to store it so I am trying to see if I will be able to lock it up while not in use. If not is there any other ways to lift up the tonneau cover so it will fit under it but still locked down. The tonneau cover is an access. If not what is the best way to lock it into my box, I will have the tailgate locked, but is there any other way to lock it into the box.

I think that question was asked last year and IIRC the newer deeper box trucks will get them in with the seats removed. I have an 01 and screwd just enough I can't get mine closed. It's coming off next week as I found a cheap aluminum topper to use during the hard water season.

with hyfax runners on my sled I could not get it in under the cover on my 2000 so last fall I built a riser for the box.

I love the riser idea ..... but I have a short box and my Lodge is longer than the box, so the riser would solve only 1 of my problems. Great looking riser though.

coombia21,

Thought I'd update ya. I picked up my Otter Magnum from up north today. I have the double flip, which means more canvas to store under the sled cover, and it fit under my Superduty Access Cover just fine. Room to spare even. No hy-fax on this sled but if I recall, I didn't have any issue with my other house or truck when I had them.

I have a 2004 Super Duty and I believe the box sides are lower then the newer model fords. I was unable to close my access cover when I went to the newer Otter lodge with the new style seating. The aluminum cross brace that went across the tub did not allow the tent polls to lay flat on top of the tub like they did before. I went back to the old style aluminum seat brackets now the tent polls lay flat. With the seats placed in the tub I'm now able to close my access cover.

I had to put a 3/4 inch plywood spacer in between the swivel and the seat bracket to keep the newer padded seats from scraping and riping on the old style seat bracket but that's a whole other story!!
