FBMH
Who says the duck huntin is slow? The ducks are slowly trickling down, and for those who complain and whine because your not shooting ducks, well your not putting in the time. Ducks are everywhere, but they have become smarter and adapted to hunters. Check out this vid, we managed to do this hunt on a day after school, us 3 kids. I spent the whole week scouting this area. Feathers Rainin
We lost 2,3,4? Probably shouldn't have been have taking such long pokes without a dog or small boat to chase crips eh? When I don't have a dog we only shoot em over water right in the meat hole to minimize lost birds. Looks like a fun hunt though. Might have hit better if you let the birds finish but it is hard to tell distance on videos. I agree scouting is the key to success. Finding the time is easier when you are in school and not working 40-50 hours a week. Gotta love work.
Lip'em
Ah yes, that little thing called working for a living. Makes it a bit difficult to "watch a spot all week" when you drive to work in the dark and drive home from work in the dark. My eyes begin to gloss over when people say I don't put my time in. I put my time in whenever possible (which usually consists of two short days on the weekends) Excuse me, I have to get back to my whining and complaining about not shooting any ducks in Sota. rbs
Great shoot guys! Even with a dog sometimes you don't get all the birds....sometimes its just how it works! Reminds me of my high school days!
browndog
Your post lets me know that you were not around when duck hunting was good in Minnesota. I feel sorry for you that you think what you have is good. Large numbers of ducks used to migrate through Minnesota.

Musky Buck
FBMH come try to find ducks in my county, they are not everywhere, not at all, unless they are walking south, we scout every day, see 0. The area farmers and I haven't seen a flock all season, but yes they are in some areas now with good numbers, friends in western OT county got em by the thousands. Your shells if you hunted my county would last you a lifetime.
TylerS
Hey give these guys a friggin break. They're kids with time on their hands. I did the same thing at that age. What else is there to do but scout and hunt to your heart's content? Heck, I did that all through college, too. Glad I did while I had the chance. The life of a working man bites the big one when it comes to the suddenly condensed availability of hunting time. FBMH, good shoot! Nice to see somebody whackin 'Sota ducks for once. Musky Buck
I just get a kick out of how small everyones world is, there are 0 ducks in many counties in this state, but if someone is into them then they are all over and that's a crock, I know what you mean here comes winter and here's the narrow window of opportunity, good luck guys, remember a swim in these waters is likely lucky to survive. Nice shooting guys. Give it a rest Musky Buck. No the hunting isn't as good as when you were a younger lad. I'm 34 and it's not as good as it used to be when I first started hunting. It is what it is, will it get better maybe, but I kind of doubt it. I guarantee someone has shot some ducks in the county your in this week. I hunted solo this morning Wright County with no scouting and shot three green heads. Should of been four.I haven't been shunked this year. the man
I agree with you RiverRunner. Musky Buck I know guys that hunt in your counties and they kill twice as many ducks as I do and I hunt in east central minnesota and haven't done too well. However I haven't gotten skunked so I'm always able to shoot something. If you are not seeing or shooting anything you need to scout there are birds around you just need to find them. It's getting a little annoying about hearing what it was like in the old days we get it. I'm not trying to personally attack just trying to give advice. Thanks
