If it rains?

Just make sure you sit. After the rain stops, the bucks will walk around and refresh the scrapes and rubs. I got one the other year only 20 yards from my truck (actually between my truck and I - so I had to make sure I did not have a pass-through). As soon as the drizzle stopped, it was walking its trails and making sure his territory is marked.

I have been told to bring an umbrella and a bungee. Works well for annoying drops.

40% chance of rain forecast for Sunday where I hunt, so I'll bring my orange rain gear. I just keep my rifle in my lap and hunch over a bit to keep the scope dry. I also put a small baggie over the end of the barrel with a rubber band. Maybe not quite so important during rifle season, but I think real important for muzzleloader season.

Look into one of those portable umbrellas. I bought one a few years back and was skeptical, however it works really well. It attaches to the tree and can double as a quick ground blind.(haven't used it for the blind yet) Folded up is is small enough to fit in my backpack. From what I recall it cost about $25. I was worried that it would beat like a drum, but it wasn't any louder than the rain hitting the leaves. It keeps you out in the woods, so that is worth a lot.

Just something else to think about.
