What the heck is with them this year, every night I have been out bowhunting I have either seen or could hear them. Tonight I had one at 10 yards however I didn't hear it coming and when I reach for the bow it picked me off 20 feet up in the tree and ran away. And this is on 8 different properties ranging from Stacy to Mora I have never had so many problems with them.

Was sitting in the stand tonight and had zero deer moving around. The turkeys were noisy and were flying around. Could not figure out was going on. Then I saw a coyote come over the hill. Got it to come about 35 yards away. It jumped on a log and I placed the arrow right over its back. I was pi$$ed at myself for missing such an easy shot. How much effect do they have on mature deer? This is the first time I have seen one in the woods. Next time I will not miss.

I had one spook a really nice 8 point opening evening a few years back the buck was heading in to my stand and the coyote was coming down the same trail heading towards the buck. Once the buck saw him he took off and the yote sat down looking where the buck was when a 125 grain thunderhead ruined his day. I didn't see that buck again till Oct 23 when he came in on a scent drag I put out with doe in heat and I ruined his night with a 125 grain thunderhead my first P&Y buck.

The farm I grew up on, which my brother now runs, (near Pelican Rapids) is rotten with the things this year. He's seeing them constantly, and hearing them almost every night. Guy who bowhunts the place says he's seen very very few fawns this season, and sees coyotes all the time. How much cause and effect there is there I'm not sure, but I imagine there's some. Coyote hunting is definitely on the to-do list for this winter.

Seems like when they really get up there in numbers the mange comes through and thins them out for a while. Other bad thing about them though is have hardly seen a fox there lately.
