Strange sight on trail cam...

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Hoping to get your advice.

I went out to my bow stand tonight trying for whitetail. I checked my trail cam and saw this guy.

Obviously very strange to see a Bear located in this area. (I live in Maple Lake, MN.) Figuring he probably came from the Mora/Foley area, he would have had to cross Hwy 10 and I94. (I live 4 miles south of the interstate)

My question is, do I buy an over the counter, no quota tag and go after him knowing the season is over on the 16th? Do bear tend to stick to a certain area? And what brings him here? When I went to my stand, I noticed my 2 mineral licks were tipped over and one had a chunk missing out of it.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Well if you have had your cam out for a while now and this is the first time you have seen him, he maybe just passing through and chances are he will keep moving to food some where else by the time you start your baiting. But, what the heck give it a shot! winkfull-27051-13070-deercam063.jpg

It's like this guy I got on my cam that had been out for three weeks. Only one shot of him and he never came back to the lick.
