iPhone update

Has anyone updated their iPhone yet? I saw that it came out today but like every other major update I was planning on waiting to make sure the bugs were worked out.

One year ago they released an OS that had that newfangled multitasking feature and two years ago they unleashed cut-and-paste, so what technological marvel did 5.0 bring?

I have and still am running beta iOS 5 v7 and like it. Nothing huge but cleaner. My likes have been the swipe from the top pull down screen, the triangular incoming top display and running beta the updates via WiFi right to phone have saved time messing around in iTunes. I also noticed I use iCloud way more than I would have ever thought. It is nice knowing if I have not synced for awhile, made changes to my phone content, loose or break the phone, it all right in iCloud waiting for a re-sync.

You can save keyboard shortcuts. Nobody will use it, except for when your friend grabs hold of it and makes the word "the" a shortcut for a rather embarrassing phrase.

iPhone update - IMessage

Someone sent me this link this morning talking about the update. Looks as though the iphone is now on the cloud...also, love the idea of imessage.

Also known as AOL Messenger, MSN Messenger, Windows Messenger, Yahoo Messenger....

Just another messenger. Only way it is worth while is if it could send SMS to cell carriers like TextNow or TextFree.

I guess I would be more excited over the imessage thing, but myself, and I bet most other iphone users have unlimited text messaging already on their contract, so why is this something special? Am I missing something as usual?

No, those aren't the same at all.

It would be great if BB would allow crossplatform access to their BBM, but that might be their last ace in the hole and the only thing keeping them relevant at this point. I can see Apple opening up imessage just to put the final nail in BB's coffin.
