Muthagoose
Drama central on the emotional train wreck continues...Seems someone complained inquired to the state gaming board who knows.. But now anyones elligable to win the $5,000... Also many of the "Lily Padders" are ramping up to win the money and donate it to the NABC...WOW big suprise. Geeeeeeeeeeee didnt see this one coming,LOL.. JMHO>>>It has come to our attention that the rules have been changed for the $5000 Bear Hunters Jackpot drawing (bearhuntersjackpot.com). The $5000 was to be awarded to a bear hunter if NO radio-collared bears were shot during this year’s hunt. The drawing is now open to EVERYONE—hunters and non-hunters alike. This is what we learned: Effective immediately, the rules of the jackpot drawing have been changed to comply with Minnesota statutes. ANYONE may now enter for a chance to win the $5000 by mailing their name, address, and phone number to >>I removed the link and address dont know if it would be cool to post it up<<<. All entries must be received by midnight October 16, 2011 to qualify for the $5000 drawing. TIME IS RUNNING OUT ! ! ! This change was made in response to a complaint sent to the Minnesota Gambling Control Board, which was forwarded to the Department of Public Safety/Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Division. It was determined that the previous restriction to licensed bear hunters constituted a purchase on the part of the entrants, and that no purchase of any kind should be required. — Sue M. TooTallTom
Are you peeved that the drawing is now open to everyone, or just that Lynn's fans are acting like kids about it? I think it'd be amusing if one of them won, and then kept the money.
Cheetah
Seems strange that the P.O. BOX address is in Florida, as is the name and address of the owner of the web site domain. Yet the drawing was originally meant for hunters in MN?

TooTallTom
Okay, fair enough.Wasn't there some big kerfuffle with a contest company out of Florida not paying for holes-in-one? Something like they didn't have insurance or something?
jerkbait
Isn't it over already anyhow? There was a radio collared bear shot in NW MN this year.
Kim1212
The "contest" only covers collared bears in certain permit areas (basically the 4 areas that cover the general Ely area and the BWCA). I really hope the NABC doesn't get the money back. Using the money put up for a hunter to win (misdirected or not) and having it end up going to erect a statue in a legal hunter killed bear's name just would be a disaster. The people in FL who sponsored the contest are bear fans, from what I understand. I don't know them and don't recognize the name of the HSOforum owner, but that doesn't mean much since I haven't followed the LTBB FB site for a long time. Considering the contest HSOforum is still suggesting hunters can include their DNR information, I suspect that they'll find a way to make sure a hunter wins.
