Archerysniper
So my question is what would you do. For the last week I have been hearing people pounding on ducks or geese about a mile from my house, I know the pond they are on it's private however they have been shooting after hours even when the 4pm ban was on they were pounding away. I think tonight was the last straw though the were shooting 5 to 9 shot volleys multiple times all the way till 7:05 tonight when it was dark enough that I could look up in the yard and if their was a duck flying I couldn't tell what it was. MinDak Hunter
If you feel that they are cheating and taking chances away from my six year old daughter then please call TIP (1-800-652-9093) or the North Branch Game Warden ( Officer Name: Todd Langevin Phone: (651) 277-9473). Archerysniper
I will be giving Todd a call in the morning, I worked with his brother for 4 years and got him involved with hunter harassment this spring when I was turkey hunting. And Elwood this is the same group/pond that I was telling you about in the boat, it's time to call.
Gordie
It may be to late as the season closes later now but at least he could check them out. never know they may be doing something else illegal
Archerysniper
Hopefully he can make it out tomorrow night the last 2 nights they have been pounding away till at least 7pm.

Archerysniper
Made a couple phone calls today and left messages with my contact info. I might not be the only one who called we had a mysterious plane hanging around the house tonight circling the area where the had been hunting. Well never mind hopefully it was the warden because as I was typing they just opened up and did a 7 shot volley
GatorBait
Yep, you did the right thing. There is no excuse for violating. I never hesitate to make the call. Play by the rules like 99% of everyone else does, it's not that hard. Nothing makes me more mad than listening to the volleys when you know the season is finished for the day. Hopefully they get what they deserve. From the sounds of it, they are prolly taking them right off the surface when they hit their dec's, if it's that late. Archerysniper
Birds must be catching on to them the shootings starting later every night last shot was fired at 7:05.Called the 1 800 tip number and kept getting busy signals [PoorWordUsage] the only way I got through was the #847 on the cell 800 number didn't work, as I was giving the nice lady info for the tip call she could hear the shooting in the back ground and said wow that's awful late to be shooting. Hopefully they can catch them before the birds get wise and they move on to rape a different area.
Cheetah
For the amount of shooting you have heard for many days now they have to be way over their possession limits... Maybe the DNR guys will raid the freezer and see how many are piled up.

And it's 2 groups on diffrent water they must figure if one is still shooting they might as well also.
Stringerless!
Pathetic ! Really bugs me when shooting times are broken. Especially in evening. Hunting mostly WMAS these fools do not realize that shooting late literally makes the birds become nocturnal. I have seen it firsthand in Carlos Avery every year. Called tip once and they just blamed the shots on a deer hunter. Even though they were the only ones that had broken ice to get out there and I watched them shoot 25 minutes late and called with their plate number and location. Ranger Rick bought thier story of the deer hunter and they walked.
gurkster
No excuse, but being it is every night. I wonder if they think waterfowl closes 1/2 hour after sunset like deer does, rather than at sunset??? Again, no excuse we all need to know the laws, but that would make more sense if they are there every night in the same place. Then again, criminals aren't always the brightest. Farley
No excuse, but being it is every night. I wonder if they think waterfowl closes 1/2 hour after sunset like deer does, rather than at sunset??? I bet they do, I didnt know that, I always figured it was 1/2 hour past like everything else. Why is waterfowl different?
Archerysniper
Farley, it gives them time to roost for the night without being pressure, also if you look into the laws most if not all small game shooting hours end at sunset not a half hour after. fishgutz77
Sniper,When this sort of thing happens don't wait unitl you get the ok from a bunch of guys on the forum. Use your head and make the bleepin call. You be the conservationist, you be the guy to do the right thing and don't think twice.Your post should have been the story about what happened after you made the call. Now, that being said, I hope if the are violations they get the book thrown at them.Good hunting. Feathers Rainin
TIP is worthless in my experience. Look up your local CO. There is a place to look it up on the DNR site. I looked up a couple this year. You should be able to get their cell number and even email. They shouldnt need a plane to bust em. Pretty sure CO's can come right on private land. Burn those poachers!
carpshooterdeluxe
The numbers listed on the DNR HSOforum are home/office phone numbers; at least for the 3 CO's I have stored in my phone. Warden from the county I grew up is very guarded about giving out his cell number. If you need to get ahold of them in a hurry, the best way is to listen to the instructions on their voicemail, which should direct you to the regional Highway Patrol dispatch. Archerysniper
The CO had promptly called me back yesterday morning around 8am. The numbers listed are a home office number and they will tell you what to do like the other poster stated. If you need immediate CO response you call the highway patrol dispatch.
