Matt C
Started pheasant hunting a couple years ago, and got hooked. So today my buddy said, lets go dove hunting. Low and behold, 10 minutes in and my first shot, I get one. I told my wife that she will likely see me even less now. And here is my first Dove. MuleShack
So do they taste like chicken?I often thought about it, but then it seems like more work to clean them than it is to eat them.

They don't taste like chicken: they're better! I pluck my doves. It takes literally seconds and the skin helps keep in the moisture. Stuff the cavity with some apples or other fruit, and a bit of herbs, paint with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then grill over high heat, first on the back for a few minutes, than a couple minutes on each side, and finally finished breast down. Moist, tender, and very flavorful. You'll never breast out another dove, I promise you that!
