1st one of the season by accident

My buddy took them all with his smart phone and posted them on fbook i guess. So maybe in a few months i'll retrieve them from there. I kinda frowned when he said he was going to post them...i remembered the thread about people using smart phone pictures to find GPS coordinates.

I believe the season is open til Oct15th, but after Oct1 its catch/release only. Which most of us Sturgeon fisherman are anyhow.

Have you even run into a spot where you get multiple 50" fish and bigger, but very few small ones? Or is it mostly hit or miss whether a biggie will bite?

you're right, they dont have to be monsters for a good fight. Anything over 40" will test your arm, over 50" sore arms and over 60" is just Chinese fire drill borderline chaotic but GRRREAT!

I have caught multiple big fish in a single spot with smaller fish mixed in.

one of my best days out a few yrs ago we boated a 47,48,2-49,2-50,52,53,55,57,and 61.5 within 5hrs of fishing and nvr moved.

i guess its just better to be lucky then good lol

That sounds like one LONG night of chinese firedrills!!

Hope to recognize some of you guys this weekend as i go by the busy area heading south. When i cruised through that area last saturday night about 10:30pm every boat was landing a fish so it wasn't chit chat time

It was actually during the day. started the day at about 8am and left the water at 1pm cz we ran out of bait.

we'll if ya see me stop n say hi. i may follow ur lead and head south myself, cz i might camp on the islands one last time.
