Its going to be a good weekend for MN opener...Should be interesting to see how foggy the mornings are with the cool temps coming. I'll be up for opener doing my best to put a few down. Best opening weekend numbers where we hunt in years. Got 3 fields each with over 100 birds, and 2 or 3 more fields with 30-50 in them. Good luck everybody!

First year in about 8 I won't be. I'm going to miss it. We have hunted in Medina for years and now the city has come up with rules that are next to impossible to abide by. We had some new comers get on some adjacent land a couple of years ago and created several complaints from neighbors. Neighbors went to the city and now we have so many rules that its time to look for new land. Been knocking on doors for weeks without any luck. Good luck to you that are going. Enjoy!

Lol...I ran into the same thing. Had a nice spot at my aunt & uncle's off of Mohawk Drive in Medina...their neighbors didn't follow the city's rules and now its too much trouble to hunt that spot.

I will be. Headin up to the cabin though, so I will be just pass shooting as they fly between the ponds and sloughs up there. Not as good as down here, but I get a few once in a while. One nice thing though is I don't have to get up early to beat anyone to a spot.

Got a field locked up that's been seeing about 150 each morning, should be good. Going to take my 13 year-old for his first goose hunt. He's never wanted to go before. I said last night we'd have to go early. He said what time. I just said early, wouldn't tell him it's 4am... He can take a nap when we get home...

Did alright this morning ended up with eight between three guys. Hunted up by center city, not a hole lot of shooting going on. Birds were few and far between.

Small lake north of Harris. Never saw a bird. Heard a few flocks but 2 far away 2 see. Not much shooting in the area either. Wrapped it up at 9

Three of us got 7 this morning. Seems there was a big change in behavior and number of geese (fewer) in our area after the southerly winds on thursday.

where is a good place to start looking for duck hunting areas here in MN? I was out this morning fishing wtih a buddy and we heard gun shots from a near by lake near Square lake. Would not mind hunting for ducks.

good luck around the square lake area! and the shots you herd were from early goose hunters. i hunt a field about 2miles from square lake, heading out in the am, cant wait!
