I would kinda like same or less daily limits, but a higher possession limit. Like a three day possession, give a guy a little time to eat it all smile I guess I sort of have that though, if I don't shoot my limit in one day, it is like having a less daily limit but still can only have as many ducks as two day limit. If that makes sense...

I like the way it is now, but I would be open to 4-5 duck limit if we could get a longer season. I just like being out there hunting them and seeing them--the number of ducks I take home isn't that important as long as I get a good hunt where you see a lot of ducks and get to shoot at a lot of ducks every now and then. Whether I hit them and bring them home is unimportant to me.

I like Box's idea. Lower the daily but increase the freezer/possesion limit. It seems like a lot of the hunters I talk to only follow the possesion limit on trips but their freezer holds more than the possesion. I really like to eat fowl so come Spring it is long gone and I have to wait all the way to September. Three times the daily limit for possesion and 5 ducks daily would be great.

I don't care on the season length that much but I'm a northern boy so it is usually done by Thanksgiving. I know there is good opportunity to hunt December on the sippi so I understand why some like the longer season. I think the DNR's layout this year did a good job at giving us a chance at more of the teal but also keeping the Southern boys happy with the split.

The theory behind the basis of season length and bag limits is documented somewhere by the Feds.

Since most people do not limit out each time out, lowering the total limit does not add that many days to season length based on determining the total kill. Especially true in Southern states.

I like the early opener this year and have enjoyed taking my kids for youth waterfowl day. So I would like days on the front half but I know not many would like that idea. I never seem to be able to take advantage of the late season whether it is because of deer hunting, freeze up or just not having permission for fields that the birds are using, so I don't need anymore days on the end. I would be willing to give up a bird in the daily limit for more days in the front or a teal/wood duck season.

Our old duck hunting mentor taught us just that... first, find a comfortable place to sit. Second, set out dekes based on that comfy spot. Last, shoot ducks smile
