Whats wrong with this picture? (answers posted)

A smart phone is a great tool in the shop. I have found myself taking picture notes on various projects as well as documenting repairs and even talking a few pics of the crazy stuff we see all the time.

So i thought I would share a couple with you.

The first one (A) made me smile. A couple weeks back as I was putting the tires back on the boat trailer my wife said she would help to hurry the process. She was putting the lug nuts on the opposite side as I snugged down the side I was on. When I came over to tighten the lugs on the other side they were as pictured here.

After I explained to her why they go on in a particular fashion she still could not find the logic...I love her so much. blush

A. You wouldn't believe how often we see this. I had one the other day that a "buddy" changed this guys tire and he couldn't get the lug nuts tight. It was an older ford taurus and the lug nut shoulders are bigger than the lug nut size unlike the picture above you can't get a socket over the shoulder on these. He had them all on backwards, finger tight, and drove from work to our location!

B. This one came in for a break inspection. The customer had tried to replace there own rear brakes. The work order said check brakes, customer tried replacing rears, pedal goes to floor. Pulled the right rear drum and everything looked good. Pulled the left rear drum and thats what I found. Absolutely nothing besides a wheel cylinder! I then found the rear shoes and hardware in the back seat along with some new shoes.

C. This customer uses there car, an older honda accord, to transport there 2 Siberian huskies. When the a/c no longer blew cold they brought it in to have it looked at. It ended up needing an EVAP core. As you can imagine, or maybe not, this car was full of dog hair. You could literally rake it off the floor. The customer accepted the estimate for repairs and then was told that a basic clean-up of the interior would be needed as the evap core is accessed through the passenger side of the dash. The customer did a nice job getting the car cleaned out but as soon as I pulled the glove box a nightmare jumped out at me. A thick layer of dog hair covered everything!

With the evap housing removed we all had a good chuckle at the amount of dog hair that had accumulated on the evap core. We showed the customer and they couldn't believe it!!
