Solid tone or beep beep beep etc...

Solid tone is over heat warning, beeps are low oil. You could have either a bad alarm module or a bad sensor if you have refilled the oil tank. I am not sure where the module is on your motor, on my 75 hp it is below and under the starter, on my motor the oil sensor has light blue wires. Find those and disconnect one or both and see if the alarm clears if it does you have a bad sensor if not a bad alarm module.

Good Luck.

its beeping on and off as long as the key is on. I added 32 ozs of oil as soon as it started but it is still beeping. drove it about 3 blocks and have not started it since. Still beeps with the key in the on position. thanks for the advise!

Beeping on and off is the oil sensor, find and disconnect one of the wires for the oil sensor, if the beeping stops check the sensor to make sure it changes state if not new sensor and you are back on the water.

Good Luck.

I had the same issue with my motor at the start of the season and stopped at a marina on the lake I was on and the guy said oil sensors or floats will get saturated after many years and sometime just won't spring back up....he disconnected my alarm wire for the oil reserve and I have just visualy kept an eye on the oil level until I can get it to the shop after the season and have them replace the part which I think he said ran about $90 for the job.
