Enclosed Deer Hunting Stand.

Recommended Posts

Looking for some ideas to replace the current enclosed deer stand Thinking maybe something in the 8 ft range off the ground and 6x6 in size any pictures or recommendations would be great Stand site is on the edge of a 7acre field with some corn and food plot in site. Mostly to be used by my Father but its nice to use this to warm up or get out of the elements from time to time.

A 6x6 stand is a good size for one or two people. I would go with 6'6" or 7' walls so you can stand up in it. also if you go a little wider you can lay down in it and rest if need be. I wouldnt listen to Jay he dosent know a thing about building a deer stand he builds condos JK. But he does have a lot of ideas and such. Most of my stands are 6x6 and I would recommend stayingaway from big windows tops 18 inches high and around 3 foot long are great sizes for an inclosed stand.

I looked around a lot was tough to find not to expensive or big. Plan on gettong blinds fun will most likely blast you, unless all windows have north or south exposure smile

Here are a couple of photos of a stand I just finished.

It is 4'x5' and almost 6' tall inside with 4' side walls.

It will be for gun and ML seasons to get my wife and kids out and keep them warm.

I used (6) 1/2" treated plywood for the walls and roof and 5/8" for the floor.

The stand is a gas barrel stand and windows are sliding panels from the 1/2".

I also ripped 2x4s into 2x2s for the corners. Added some $5 paint and a couple of hinges...

I used 8 eye screws for the corners so that I could hand up one panel at a time and the boys could drop in a pin to secure the walls together. Used a cordless drill to screw the sides together, then I got in the stand and they lifted the roof pieces so I could grab them. I did have to bring a ladder along to screw the roof on.

Ready for the woods
