Curado or Revo SX?

What are your experiences with these casting reels? I read some reviews on Tacklewarehouse and they all just seem to make it harder for me to decide.

I do bass fishing and will be using it for all applications from crank, jig, frog etc... Plan to use braided line.

I want something that will last, easy to use, easy to maintain, good warranty, and wont make reeling in a fish hard.

The Curado E reels that are being cleared out right now are a no-brainer for @ $130. Great reels and at clearance prices hard to turn down.

I have a couple different flavors of Revo, and I do like them (love my Revo Winch for cranks) so nothing wrong there either, but the clearance Curado E is just a darn good deal all around.

Since the Curado E series is being discontinued they are a great buy right now for around $130 at many places. The 50E is a nice small reel and the 6.3:1 is a great all purpose gear ratio. And since you're using braid line cap. won't be a problem at all.

Joes is actually having a 25% off sale on their HSOforum right now.

I also have both and definetly like the Curado better. I used to have braid on my SX and it casted quite well but the last couple years I have been using heavier flourocarbon on it and it doesn't seem to handle that as well. You have to thumb very carefully if you want to get and distance with 15 lb floro. My Curado on the other hand has casted both equally well.

Fever -

Gander had them at around that price, but it's a matter of whether or not individual locations have any left. I know Thorne Bros had some recently, and they're a phone call away. Most online outlets have them on clearance too - again, just a matter of what's in stock at a given store.

They're being cleared out to make way for the new Curado G.

Cheers,

RK

sounds great guys! I really appreciate all the replies! I think I may try for another curado. I have read some reviews about the new curado and some are saying how its just an upgraded citica, but with the curado name.

So now that the prices are the same on these two reels which one would be the best option? I am going to be getting one or the other in the next couple of weeks. I have read a bunch of reviews on TW about both of them and it seems like the reviews go back and forth. I am sure I would be satisfied with either one of them.

FYI - Bass Tackle Depot is having a 20% off Presidents Day sale until the 19th. Revo has some rebates going on. Now is the time to buy!

The Premier, STX, and SX all have a $30 rebate right now. Couple this with BTD's 20% off and it is a heck of a deal.

I think Shimano is way over-rated, but I do have a few Curados, Citacas, and until last year a $380 Calais that was the worst of the bunch. (It is now swimming with the fishes.)

When I heard about the clearancing of the older curados, I rushed mine from tacklewarehouse for $120 for a lefty.

I looked all around MN, but could not find any. When I called Dick's, the worker was like, "Dude you missed out. We sold all 13 that we had last weekend for $75 each. Well...to be honest, all the guys that work here bought them all."

[PoorWordUsage] me off, but they sure got a great deal on them.
