Hey folks how can I tell if my Merc 200 efi's Oil pump is working. I had the oil alarm go off and I filled the main tank, the side mounted one was full with no air in it but bleed it anyways and its still getting the oil alarm. HELP Im afraid to start it anymore and work on bleeding or whatever I dont want it to lock up on me from no oil. any advice?

What year is it?

Im fairly certain its new enough to have the motion sensor on the pump in addition to the tank sensor.

You can determine whether its the pump or the tank sensor by unplugging either one, one at a time.

Jeez, you too! frown Seems to be the year for motor issues. A trip to the dealer for testing is a lot cheaper then a rebuild. I know. cry Good Luck hope you find out what's up with it.

I had an oil alarm that wouldn't turn off and the marina said my float was stuck. I tried to get it unstuck but it didn't work. It will cost me $90 for the marina to take care of it at the end of the season. In the meantime they disconnected the alarm and I just have to keep an eye on my oil level.

Figured it out. Sensor in the reserve tank mounted on the motor. Lots of testing with OHM meter and a 15 dollar part and shes as good as new. Sure scares ya though not knowing if its getting oil.
