Battery Question

Sorry, I know this should probably go in the "Expert Info" section, but I thought I might get a better response in here.

I need a new starter battery for my boat and just wondering where you guys buy batteries? I don't want to pay for an Optima, but I also don't want the FF special for $40.

The battery I have is shot, but I suspect it was underpowered to begin with. Here are the stats.

Marine Cranking Amps - 785

Cold Cranking Amps - 560

Reserve Capactiy - 115

This battery is runing a 115 Merc Four Stroke and a Lowrance LMS 332C. Any suggestions on what battery I should get and where to buy it? Looking to spend $100-150 max.

If you are just looking for a starting, you can get an Optima for under $150 for sure. I would go that route if you can.

Where's a good place to get an Optima, Cabelas or Gander?

either place is good. I know Gander has some reconditioned ones not too long ago, but Im guessing they are sold out now.

I checked Cabelas on-line and the prices range from $214 to $270. They don't have a straight Optima starting battery, they're all dual purpose which is probably why they cost more.

Sam's Club has Optimas a good bit cheaper than anywhere else I could find. I considered buying them last spring when I was getting batteries for my trolling motor, but ended up going traditional instead cause I didn't have the bit of extra $$

FYI, they have Optima Blue Tops at Sam's Club for $155, best price I could find by far. Thanks for the tip Aaron.

BTW, I was told Maple Grove Sam's doesn't carry batteries because they're next to a wetland.
