What are peoples prefeance. I need to replace the ones I have, Looking at the sealed LED but have been told they leak and burn out the same as the bulds do. I do unhook my lights before backing into the water, I have had many bulds blowup or crack when they hit the water.

What has worked for you and would you change or keep what you have. LEDs are more money but if they do not burn out they would be worth the money.

Good LEDs are practically indestructible, and have MTBFs upwards of a million hours. Your only concern would be water within the module, which could cause a short circuit. Most indoor/outdoor 12V LED modules though are very well sealed.

LED is a clear winner.

Bingo!

Light emitting diodes offer longer life, less power draw, less prone to marine related short circuits, more efficient lighting. Cost is down now and the longevity of use offsets any additional costs.

Yup, I switched to led a few years ago and haven't had a problem yet. They are bright. I replaced the turn signals and not the small running lights along the trailer. I think I will be changing those out sometime because they don't always come on. Nice not to replace bulb housing each season. Bought mine at GM.
