Roofer recommendations

Recommended Posts

Ask for referances. A "good" roofer should be able to offer a list of recent jobs with contact information. Check the BBB and Angies List if you subscribe or know someone who does.

I give referances to every potential customer. My leads all come from word of mouth and it keeps me as busy as I want to be.

Did you get hail down your way last week? Got a potential customer who called the other day in Burnsville claiming big hail.

I work for one of the best roofing companies in minnesota, in business over 70 years. The BBB is a good place for complaints, but does not have any enforcement authority. I tell my customers to check the dept of commerece for any legal issues. All roofers will tell you they will do a great job, but look very closly at any estimates and materials used. Ask about labor warranty and shingle warranty information, most shingles are pro-rated, so a 30 year shingle might only have 5 years of 100% coverage for defects, is it really a 30 year shingle ect. Ask lots of questions!!

A buddy of mine works for JNS... Think he said all their shingles are covered for 25 or 50 years... and its transferable to the next owner... They work with your insurance company and you only pay your deductible if they can find damage on your roof.. even if it's just one shingle that got blown off it can still be claimed as weather damage and be covered
