Thanks to an excellent guide and friend... I got my first bird, on my first hunt, in less than a half hour. Heard him while setting up for a bow shot, and ended up putting the stalk on to about 60 yards before he flew down. was with 3 or 4 other toms and a jake. Came in solo to nothing but a call, old school style. 24 pounds, 10 inch beard, and 1 inch spurs, buddy not inserted due to his privacy.

Sorry pumper317 I had to comment, I also don't want to derail your thread, but this was the highlight of my morning out in the woods. I had 2 toms coming in and for some reason they didn't like something about my deeks. I was pretty down on my luck after that, so I decided to see how everyone else was doing using my phone. I clicked on your thread and almost rolled out of the turkey blind I was laughing so hard.

Again nice bird...I'm jealous !!!
