Feed back on new lines tried this year

I personally tried the new Lindy line and Pline floro clear. I was very happy with the Pline and was ok with the Lindy line this year. The Lindy line was nice with its durability bringing in a 28" northern on a plain hook with no leader, but I also got a 24" on the Pline with out a leader. I also liked the diameter of the Lindy line as it dropped smaller jigs pretty fast. I did have a lot of problems with line coil and birds nests with it and ended up having to cut off at least half the line I put on the reel. The Pline I did not have hardly any trouble with coil and knots. I will use up the rest of the Lindy line I have still on the spools next year but I don't know that I will buy it again. I will for sure use Pline next year and I am trying some on open water and so far have been happy with it. Next year I am going to try some 2 lb Pline on my pan fish rod instead of the 4 because I am confident enough with its strength. It is also cheaper then a lot of ice lines out there because you get a 300y spool for around 10$, also its diameter is similar to other ice lines.

Wondering what experiences others have had with the new Lindy line and other new lines, or even lines that have been around but you tried for the first time? Or just your go to line.

I didn't really try any new lines this year, but continued to used many of the new lines I got the year before. I did try some KVD Line and Lure Conditioner and all I have to say is, it's not made for ice fishing. Especially if you leave your fishing rod/reels overnight in the truck. My lines lost strength at about 25-35%.

The Sufix Ice Braids did well, better as they softened up. That was the only new line I really tested. But I am not too overly impressed with it as a whole.

I'm very interested in the new Fireline just out this year and will very likely try it this fall and winter. Reports I received back from the Pro Field Staff Fireline Team, at least to me anyway, indicated that this new line is a very encouraging new ice line option. One to watch for sure.

If you're talking about the NanoFil, I'd have to agree with them. Got a sample in February, spooled it up and used it the whole remainder of the hardwater season. It blows the old FireLine Crystal out of the water!

I tried the Lindy 3lb Ice line last winter and thought it did well.

No coiling and didn't have to force ultra light jigs down the hole.

I'll be spooking with that on my gill and crappie rods for open water.

I've sort of settled on Stren High Impact in 8lb for casting jigs at eyes for now.

I tried the new Suffix ice line and it didn't last on my reels for long. It was terrible with the feel, durability, and all around performance. I switched back to P-line and will not go back to another line for a few of my rods.

I am interested in the new fireline. I really like the crystal for my walleye jigging rod and will definitely give the new line a try.

First year trying Pline Flouroclear mainly because of reviews I saw on this site. I used to use Triline XL but I won't be going back. I liked the smaller diameter, it seemed stronger, and had little to no memory. I will say that if you use 3 lb or less with swedish pimples or other jigging spoons make sure you don't tie it directly to the spoon. Add an o-ring or swivel. I lost a couple nice trout and the line broke below the knot due to the sharp edge on the tie hole of the spoon. I am still wondering how nice the two were that I lost.

Triple Fish Fluorocarbon Ice line. I actually tried it on a few setups last year and liked it so much I switched all my setups to it this past season. Very limp for a fluorocarbon, heck, for any type of line. The diameter is smaller than any lines on the market I compared it to. The 6lb line handled a 31" walleye about 11lbs just fine. I had to buy some more spools of it towards the end of the season just in case they decided to discontinue it like what happened to my old favorite, Gamma.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
