"According to sources, the Wild has agreed to terms with UMD Bulldogs star Justin Fontaine. One week after the Wild signed North Dakota defenseman Chay Genoway to a one-year deal, the Wild will bring Fontaine, 23, into the fold on a two-year deal.

Fontaine, an All-WCHA Second-Teamer for three consecutive years and native of just outside Edmonton, scored 62 goals and 164 points in 159 games. "

Even if he doesn't pan out it's nice to see us try and land some talent any way possible, I'm not sure if we signed any college free agents under the old management. A lot of times those are the guys that develop late but also have the ability to keep on getting better year after year.

Now let's see if the wild can sign an american. Pretty sure people are getting sick of all the euros and some of the canadians. Minnesotans are known as the biggest homers, I think we have one mn kid and maybe 1 or 2 americans. Well, maybe we need to worry about winning games first.

Yep, do I want to see a Minnesota boy on our team? Darn right! Would I factor that into my draft/signing decisions? Nope!

I would rather win a cup with 23 Finns than flounder at the bottom with 23 Minnesotans.
