Naples, Florida restaurant to prepare fresh fish catch?

Hey all:

We're heading down to Florida for a few days in the near future, and have already booked a half day charter out of Naples. Nothing fancy. Just fishing the wrecks and such for table fare. We're hoping there's a restaurant in the area that will prepare our catch for us.

Is that commonly done down there? Anyone know of one?

Thanks!

I went on a 1/2 day out of Sarasota last time I was down there and they told us about two places near the marina that would cook it up for us. There are also a few places like that in Fort Myers near the beach, they were all near the marinas were the charters leave from. You should ask the skipper of your boat and I am sure that they can recommend several places that you could use.

Steve, check around the docks, there might be a place around Tincity that will prepare your catch for you. If you are looking for a great place to dine out with the misses then I highly recommend The Watermark grill. Great food, nice atmosphere and you might even be able to find a nice scotch there as well. I have had some half day charters down there and we did well for pompano and spanish mackerel fishing hair jigs and a piece of shrimp. Unfortunately, I can't recall the charter we went with. I freeze my fish in gallon ziplocks and a bit of water flat and then wrap it in newspaper and put it in a duffle which I check and it comes home frozen solid. Good luck, have a great time!

Thanks for the additional info, guys. I asked the guide if there's a place nearby that'll fix the catch and am still waiting to hear back. Turns out he's actually already booked for the half days we have in mind, though they were marked as open on his Web site, so we're seeing if he has a couple different possibilities for half days, and are casting a wider net (pardon the pun) for a Naples charter.

I've also asked the Naples Chamber of Commerce the same question about having our catch fixed.

I realize there are food/health laws and regs that may make it hard for this to happen. Maybe impossible, but I think we can find a way pretty well. Not EVERY state, after all, is as stupid about these things as Minnesotax. gringrin

Several years ago we fished out of Fort Meyers. Our guide took us to the Fish Monger. Basically pulled rgiht up to the dock, off loaded adn the fish were cleaned.

They cooked Grouper for us 6 different ways. It was absolutely amazing. The macdamia nut crusted was our favorite. Here si a list from a quick search.
