anyone use packaged snells?

HI TALKING ABOUT THE ONES. I BELIEVE EAGLE CLAW MAKES THEM. MOSTLY 6-8 HOOKS ON ABOUT 10 INCH tied snells are these used with floats or lindy rigged they seem to short. just wondering they seem to have a lot of them at the blue store but i have never seen any one use them thanks

I'm just learning to tie my own for spinners and Lindy rigs. I've never actually used the Eagle Claw ones...

I used to buy the pre-tied Lindy Rigs waaayyyy back when. After having a couple hooks break (yes, break!!) and some knots fail, I started tieing my own. Besides, the pre-tied Lindy Rigs are way too short IMO

My dad is the ultimate lazy fisherman, he uses them ALL the time. They work great for what he uses them for...clipped into a snap swivel and fished under a bobber. His eyes are getting kind of bad, so actually tying a hook to the line while on the boat with the waves and wind is out of the question.

They are a quick easy way to get him fishing...and he hasn't ever had one break, although he doesn'e exactly go after huge fish.

I use them sometimes when I bobber fish just to be lazy. Also great when fishing with kids as they are quick to change and get them fishing again if anything happens. Never had one break.

i use them a lot for gills all year long, usually without a bobber and bobbered up while bass fishing with jr. during late spring/early summer. have had decent success for dog days crappie fishing deep weed lines without a bobber. as other mentioned easy set up and tough to snap, your toothy friends also like them but will have no problem slicing them off. my biggest complaint about them is i have to go to wally world to find them where i live.

I use them all the time for panfish. They work very well.

yeah, they are deadly on the gills. i thread the entire hook and while the little dinks can't get all of it it in their mouth they are moving it around allowing the blade(always am using the beaded and bladed) to create a lot of commotion. eventually mom or dad steps in and shows them how to eat it

#4 for crappies and #6 for sunnies

red-colored hooks outfish the others.

Are they more deadly on the gills than would be a "regular" hook/lure just tied with a palomar or improved clinch? Or are they just more convenient?

I use them when bottom fishing rough fish and when I got on trips and fish the ocean. They have a purpose whenever a swivel is necessary, but I don't see an advantage over tying on a hook when bobber fishing.

I just use them when fish pannies are being finicky, vs a flu flu or some type of jig/bait/tube/curlytail, etc.......
