Anyone know what this is? We have been setting traps for shiners, chubs, and rainbows and getting these as well.

it could be a northern redbelly dace jim, but it looks more like a redside dace. not a minnow expert but i just googled it and those would be the two canidates. would make a walley hungry i would think. good luck.

I know people who love to have them and it is the first thing they will put on their hook.

These minnows must be relation to rainbows? The look just like them aside from a little different color pattern as well as a bit different shaped jaw. Can't wait to use them as well as the pile of creek chubs we have found. Now we are just waiting for the shiners to run.

I havent had much luck for walleyes with sticklebacks but northerns love them.
