Bus to Target Field

I had the GREAT fortune of winning a 10 game package to the twins this year. In the past I have taken the LRT, but am interested in the bus, from near Prior Lake area. The MTC trip planner is no help for some reason. Anybody have first hand knowledge??

Thanks!!

Not sure how practical the bus will be from Prior Lake. Most buses only run to/from the suburbs to downtown during rush hour. During non peak hours you could be forced to transfer several times and spend time waiting for buses.

You can go on the Metro Transit HSOforum and try to plan your route. I did a quick search and if you drove to the Burnsville Center and caught a bus it would take you over 1 1/2 hours and you'd have to transfer twice.

The real bummer is that according to metro transit there aren't any bus routes that will take you home after the game if you went to a night game so you'd have no way to get back home.

Depending on how many people are riding with you it can be more cost effective to drive anyways. Parking can be found for $7-10. Light rail is $4.50 per person for a round trip. So if you have 3-4 people in the car you're probably better off driving. Assuming you aren't driving a H2 Hummer or some other gas guzzler.

MNnice,

The SW Metro transit has a park 'n ride in Chaska that they do rides for the Twins games (same bus picks up in Chan and EP). It is on the southside of the new 212 off Hwy 41. I thought for some reason that there was a bus service around Prior Lake/Savage/B-ville that did the same thing. Coming from me first hand though, the SW metro bus is slick and no long line waiting for the LRT after the game. Its the way to go.
