I dont bow fish anymore but maybe you guys and gals can spark up an intrest as my son is interested in it.

Since you asked, the one on the left is my hunting bow from years ago and the other is a grage sale special.

I'll have to get a pic of mine. Older Oneida with a Muzzy spinning reel. Just got the string replaced and haven't got a chance to tune it yet. Come on May 1!!!

not sure if I have a pic or not but I run an older bear compound with a AMS bottle reel, whisker biskuit drop in rest, and any number of different arrows, as long as they have slides! the slides are the best and safest invention for bowfishing ever.

I used to use slides all the time. Since switching to the spinner, however, I just tie to the back. 1,000 times easier and just as safe if you're careful. I do recommend slides for AMS Retriever reels, though. All the slack line can sure get ugly if it's wrapped all over the place.

I don't bowfish but the sport has come to mind and some questions too. What happens once you pull the trigger, 10' out your string is stuck in the spool and your arrow is attached to it. Does it backlash flying back to you? j/w

Yep it will come flying back at you, sometimes I think faster then when you shot them.
