Nils Owners

Question

Fishing the past weekend with friends and my auger was the only one that left slush in the holes I drilled. 4 other augers-different brands and models all had a clean hole after lifting and spinning the auger. The Nils blades are smooth without any bracing type bars which I assume was trapping the slush so it all came out and left the hole nice and clean. Any ideas on the best way to get the slush out without an ice scoop. We were fishing in the open and drilling lots of holes.. Thanks DrJ..

The cutting head is a bit smaller than the auger shaft diameter which results in more slush.

I attached an Ice Hogger Shroud to mine and that works for keeping the holes clean.

Dtro, I looked up the shroud and it looks good. What is the diameter on the outside of the shroud? I have my auger mounted on the back of my sled and slide the shaft into a 10" auger tube. Thanks DrJ

Yeah, if there is any downside of having that shroud, it's transporting it.

Having said that, it should fit in your tube fine as I just went out and measured it and it's 8 1/8" at the most.
